Statement

I am interested in how bodily sensations and personal memories take form beyond individual experience, and how they change through recording, translation and presentation. Much of my work begins with bodily experience, everyday observation, encounters with the city, or materials gathered over time. As images, sounds and objects are brought into different material and spatial settings, their relationships shift, opening up other ways of perceiving and understanding them.

Dismantling, editing and recombining are recurring approaches in my practice. I draw elements from existing images, recordings, symbols and objects, working through their connections, arrangements and material forms. In some works, software establishes conditions for generating or making something. Decisions made during production, the work of the hand, the properties of materials and the circumstances of a particular site continue to shape the outcome. I choose my methods in response to each work, remaining attentive to what emerges unexpectedly through making and listening.
